Meshonda L. Williams, PrincipalGreetings Bears,

I do hope this summer letter finds you well. I hope you have taken the time to power down some and relax. We continue to face a truly unprecedented situation. The global coronavirus pandemic is affecting all of our families, our communities, and our way of life. My heart goes out to anyone who has been impacted by the virus, either directly or indirectly. The journey we will take this year will have some sharp curves, hills, straight and narrow paths. Being Baldwin Bears, we will not turn around, but will strive to reach our destiny!

We, the staff at Ed V. Baldwin Elementary School, commit ourselves to providing a safe and nurturing environment, utilizing teaching practices reflective and responsive to our students’ needs, and creating an environment that welcomes, educates, and nurtures collaboration among stakeholders. Our efforts will provide a great opportunity for our students to excel!

I know we will accomplish our goals because where “Knowledge grows, the BEST grow here”. As your principal during this pandemic, an overwhelming and difficult time, I am confident that we will blaze a trail filled with success as you show up and stay true to the mission and values we stand for at Ed V. Baldwin.

Once again, welcome to the 2020-2021 school year! Together, let’s make this a great year filled with learning, laughter and memorable experiences!

Mrs. Stephanie Matarese

I am both excited and honored to be part of the Baldwin Bears family and look forward to engaging in the educational process with teachers, students and families to achieve common goals. I am a firm believer that all students are capable of learning and can achieve success, therefore I am committed to fostering a safe, caring and rigorous learning environment where all students have the opportunity to become globally competitive citizens and develop into life-long learners. I will work diligently to ensure that your child has a positive, nurturing and student-centered experience while here where he or she can meet their highest potential. I encourage parents and guardians to actively participate in their child’s education and at Baldwin Elementary we welcome visitors and volunteers to support the daily activities at our school. My desire is to be a supportive figure with an open door policy for the student, staff, parents, and community leaders; together we can provide the resources and supports that will allow all students to be successful. Together we will make the way for Baldwin students to continue on in becoming successful professionals, entrepreneurs, and leaders in the community. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the education of your child, do not hesitate to contact me or the school. I look forward to working with you to make this school year a success. Go Bears!
