Meshonda L. Williams, PrincipalGreetings Bears,

I do hope this summer letter finds you well. I hope you have taken the time to power down some and relax. We continue to face a truly unprecedented situation. The global coronavirus pandemic is affecting all of our families, our communities, and our way of life. My heart goes out to anyone who has been impacted by the virus, either directly or indirectly. The journey we will take this year will have some sharp curves, hills, straight and narrow paths. Being Baldwin Bears, we will not turn around, but will strive to reach our destiny!

We, the staff at Ed. V Baldwin Elementary School, commit ourselves to providing a safe and nurturing environment, utilizing teaching practices reflective and responsive to our students’ needs, and creating an environment that welcomes, educates, and nurtures collaboration among stakeholders. Our efforts will provide a great opportunity for our students to excel!

I know we will accomplish our goals because where “Knowledge grows, the BEST grow here”. As your principal during this pandemic, an overwhelming and difficult time, I am confident that we will blaze a trail filled with success as you show up and stay true to the mission and values we stand for at Ed. V Baldwin.

Once again, welcome to the 2020-2021 school year! Together, let’s make this a great year filled with learning, laughter and memorable experiences!

Sincerely,
Meshonda L Williams
Principal

Face coverings must be worn by students and staff inside school buildings, and anywhere on school grounds, including outside. Cloth face coverings remain strongly encouraged for elementary school students, if appropriate for that child.

As students begin their summer break, the following services provided by the district have been altered:
  • CCS Student Services Hotline – With the 2019-2020 school year coming to a close, the Student Services Hotline set up to assist students as they cope during the COVID-19 pandemic will discontinue.
  • Cumberland@Home LIVE Tutoring – The tutoring service ended on the evening of May 21. The remote-learning opportunity offered students assistance with math instruction during the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • CCS Prime Time – Because of the pandemic, CCS Prime Time before- and after-school care program will not be operating its usual summer camp this year. In lieu of camp, Prime Time staff will be posting fun summer activities on their Facebook page  https://www.facebook.com/CCSPrimeTime/  that parents can use to engage their child during the summer months.
  • Grab-N-Go Meal Service – CCS Child Nutrition Services will not be serving meals to children 18 years of age and younger from Monday, May 25 – Friday, May 29. Beginning Monday, June 1, the district’s summer meal program will operate at various sites throughout the county. For a full list of the locations, visit http://bit.ly/mealpickup.
